From the 2022-2023 academic year, more long-distance mobile students, especially international students, will be eligible for a scholarship, and the amount will increase.
Good news for international students. The amount of scholarships based on social criteria will increase and from the beginning of the academic year 2022 they will be available to more students. The fee points allocated to increase the income ceilings determining eligibility for scholarships have actually been adjusted. Currently, people studying more than 250 kilometers from home can get up to two charging points.
From next school year students whose family home is 3,500 to 13,000 kilometers from the place of study in France, – in particular students from Réunion, Mayotte, Guyana, Martinique and Guadeloupe on mobility in France, will have a total of three charging points. Students traveling more than 13,000 kilometers, especially students from New Caledonia and French Polynesia on mobility in mainland France, will have four points.
Improved and other scholarships for international students
Allocating these charging points will allow this increase the amount of scholarships for many mobile students who already have scholarships, but also allow new students to obtain a scholarship.
For the latter, purchasing power gain will be particularly high with exemption from student and academic allowance (CVEC of € 92) and registration fees as well as access to university food for one euro a do additional assistance (merit-based benefits, master’s mobility, international mobility).
This is explained by the Ministry of Higher Education “The financial costs of mobility are particularly high for international studentsIt confirms that it wants to “remove this brake by improving support for foreign students”.
