On-line coaching, causes for hyper progress

[CONTENU PARTENAIRE] STUDI, a pioneer and French leader in online training, continues its hyper-growth, backed by the awareness revealed by the Covid crisis. According to Pierre Charvet, co-founder and CEO, lifelong learning is a trend that responds to changes in the labor market; answered several of our questions.

The health crisis has led to employment problems in various sectors and has stimulated, in particular, vocational retraining projects. How has this period affected your business? Did imprisonment or teleworking support retraining projects?

The question could indeed arise, but in fact our growth began long before the crisis. The story begins in 1999 with the launch of our first online accounting school. It seems obvious today, but then, believe me, we were the only ones. After moving from 60 to 120 million turnover in 2020, we plan to reach 200 million this year and thus take the position of leader in the French Edtech market. But above all, with STUDI, we carry the education model of tomorrow, an inclusive and digital model that makes available to as many quality-certified state courses as possible (this applies to more than 90% of our catalog).

We want to enable everyone to find their place and change their professional life where they want, when they want, as they want, by offering them the best training and real support. The constraints associated with the health crisis have made it possible to strengthen the legitimacy of the digital learning model for a wider audience, but we have already been structurally organized and ready to respond. Today, the market is more mature and awareness of the benefits of lifelong learning is growing.

It’s a pretty deep movement, confirmed by studies that say we change jobs four or five times in our lifetime. The first stage is no longer enough to keep us attractive on the labor market, but also to guarantee everyone personal fulfillment.

In an ever-changing world, you have to constantly update your skills, gain new knowledge. Some sectors, such as finance or healthcare, even legally require you to update your knowledge. This is the core of the offers offered by Health Events, a CPD training organization for healthcare professionals that STUDI acquired a few months ago.

Our role is to support people throughout their careers, whether in a 2-year diploma training, as well as in a short or specific course, to acquire soft or digital skills. We have the largest offer of online training, from CAP to bac + 5, with 14 courses and more than 200 trainings in our catalog.

And soon part of this training will be available in English.

What are the specifics of your offer and the latest developments in it?

Digitally, they can’t do without a man. This has been our philosophy at Studio for 20 years, which is why today our 450 training advisors, the student success team and our career center are constantly advising our 70,000 students. What sets us apart and defines us is this support, which does not end with training.

We are both designers of our programs, our content and our tools to provide these training courses 100% online. We address three types of target groups and make sure that we adapt to their needs as much as possible. First of all, it is a professional in a position who wants to either move forward, develop in his sector – this is called “up-skill” – or retrain, this is called “re-skill”. “As they are in office, they need flexibility, and digital, with its flexibility, perfectly meets this need while enabling them to obtain a state-recognized degree. Then there are jobseekers with huge training needs that have been clearly identified by public actors, especially in Today, Studi is also a CFA (Apprenticeship Training Center) and allows many young people to find their way and work in the best conditions. to find a company that will welcome them.

So do you work to meet the demand of individuals as well as organizations?

Absolutely. At BtoC (“Business to Consumer”), we train students through CPF-authorized training courses. In BtoB (“Business to Business”), these are the organizations that use our services to transform, to support employees in their development. Finally, BtoG (“Business to Government”), it is the public, national and regional authorities that call on our services to support and implement a very strong local training policy.

Are you a pioneer in Ed Tech, how do you see the future of education?

The future of education is education in 2 levels: the levels of obtaining the first diplomas at the beginning of the study and the rest of life continuously. And this second phase is being done and will be done online with innovative formats, close to the needs of everyone and society. What we are building at the Studio is inclusive education, through the flexibility of its model, but also the availability of its prices. . It is also an education that reflects the needs of the labor market with an interest in excellence, because we can reach the best trainers and pedagogical experts from all over the territory and beyond. The idea that training would stop at the end of the first stage is outdated. Studies are built as a “second school”, the lifelong journey that enables fulfillment and leads to employment.

We read that the group continues to expand outside of France, can you tell us more?

The study shares its expertise and digital know-how within Galileo Global Education, the world’s second largest private higher education institution. Inclusion in this group allows us to have relays around the world, and thus to make education as accessible to as many people as possible. Next year we will be present in several European countries. At the same time, the first courses taught in English will be available, especially bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Administration and Marketing. We are also expanding into French-speaking Africa, and this year we launched ISM ONLINE, an online business school based in Dakar. This offer has already convinced more than 500 students, 100% online for accredited bachelors and MBAs.

Overall, what are the main reasons for online training?

30% of our students live in big cities, so they are close to schools and training centers, and yet they chose Studies. Because they want to choose a pace, be able to train almost seven days a week and choose the times they devote to their training. Online education also responds to a generation that wants to move and have access to study without being forced to stay in their home territory. You can travel the world, be a high-level athlete, follow your passions and move forward peacefully in the studio with online training with the best. Our team works 7 days a week to support our students through our social education platforms. A concrete response to the real need for flexibility and accessibility. This contributes to the solution of territorial faults. And we will do better and better with the regions.
