Summer is approaching and with it his desire to become unique by making space for rest and extraordinary fulfillment available throughout the year.
There are many possibilities for summer activities, projects and trips, but what to choose? What if we decided to discover those related to the solidarity dimension?
Solidarity summer option
There are many summer solidarity proposals, let’s imagine them in detail to get an overview that can support our choice, regardless of our availability and enthusiasm:
- we become agents of change in people and in the field, which motivates and strengthens us;
- we use our talents for others and for us at the same time, because we force them to grow and discover new ones;
- we feel that we are helpful and helpful to others and to ourselves; the oldest people often mention this fact that their lives have a meaning for others and for them, which increases their life energy tenfold every day;
- we are crucial tools for strengthening social cohesion where it is most needed;
- we reach out to those who are most vulnerable;
- we help to reverse inequalities of access in all areas;
- we preserve the positive values that are important points of reference for the well-being of our societies, which have arisen through moments of sharing solidarity.
In sum, the dimension of solidarity greatly enhances all the learning and sharing of the people involved, which has a significant impact on their careers.
Evidence: ask those for whom the choice of summer or time of solidarity is necessary. Their answers are filled with joy and pride in that they contribute to what is deepest: the human aspect, which unites us for better coexistence with respect for all, territories and the environment. What surprises and impresses the most are the sparkle in the eyes of both sides of the act of solidarity. In a well-established solidarity relationship, everyone benefits greatly.
The Act of Solidarity expands our vision of the world, cultures and people. It can even bring us closer to spiritual well-being, to better understand what it is for each of us and for us. Sometimes people unite because they have left and learned to be international. Others have always done so locally, which strengthens their daily lives with their significant actions, which have a lasting impact regardless of the years that have passed.
Think before acting; reconsider their views and motivations for support; do you have to go to the other side of the world to show solidarity? This Ritimo guide seems to me to be of great benefit, as it raises awareness and encourages people to continue to engage in local solidarity.
Where and how to unite?
You can show solidarity during the summer holidays in many ways, it is up to you to find a formula in line with your motivations to change the world and your needs:
I liked to volunteer to give a few personal examples, in support of the school, then locally as well as internationally by being an Olympic volunteer at a rowing reception in Banyoles during the XXV Summer Olympics in Barcelona in 1992, then as a volunteer translator at the Eurobasket International Meeting in Girona and then as a volunteer in learning the Catalan language in Catalonia.
The notion of time has been largely transcended in connection with all that these exchanges, sharing and experiences have given me in return.
Happy solidarity summer!
