After a two-year break, the tradition of big family reunions represented by UdeS Staff Days (JDP) has returned! A hybrid formula of this issue that mobilized soldiers in a sporting challenge over several days in preparation for a large rally 1.ehm June attracted more than 1,000 people from all campuses and all sectors of activity. The record attendance testifies to the growing enthusiasm of the staff for this promising event.
Successful training effect!
JDP’s sporting challenge, which was a huge success in the pandemic regime last year, has returned to encourage employees to enjoy at least 150 minutes of physical activity per week at their own pace, according to the ParticipACTION model.
As soon as the challenge started on May 16, the energy and enthusiasm were already tangible, as the work teams competed in creativity and dynamism by sharing encouraging words and photos from their sports activities on social networks.
From one week to the next, several hundred employees recorded their physical activity online in order to compete for various participant prizes offered in weekly draws at the same time.
Day of big meetings
Large staff meeting 1ehm June, which followed the JDP call, was held in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, as participants gathered on the main campus for a number of sports, cultural and social activities. From rubber boots to improvisation, through the creation of a joint mural, picnic, disc golf and trail running, among the 16 activities offered in the afternoon, everyone found something.
The animation of some activities was entrusted to employees who are engaged in certain sports and hobbies, as well as to students of our Faculty of Human Kinetics.
Professor Isabelle Dionne, who once led fitness activities, set the tone for the group warm-up before the groups left for the activities. The one who completes the mandate of the Dean of the Faculty of Human Kinetics on June 30 will continue her career as Assistant Vice-Rector for Studies and International Relations.
This year, members of the management served a popular community dinner and JDP closing from 4 to 6 p.m. These ceremonial meetings took place to the sound of the captivating music of the artist Boogát and the energetic performance of a talented band from ZUŠ.
Success that depends on the commitment of the staff
The huge success of the event is due to the involvement of many people from the university community. The development of the program was overseen by an organizing committee composed of members of the support, professional, management and pedagogical staff, which mainly includes representatives of unions and associations.
Around fifty volunteers teamed up in the field to ensure oversight and the smooth running of the various activities. Prior to JDP, more than 40 people agreed to act as respondents at all faculties, centers, institutes and services to mobilize their colleagues.
Every year, several hundred employees actively participate in this recognized event. Facilitating exchanges, JDPs make it possible to forge links between colleagues from all walks of life and to develop a network of cooperation and mutual assistance. It goes without saying that organizing a day dedicated to activities each year contributes to supporting the organizational health of the university community.
